ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY

    E-MAIL

    Unsolicited Commercial E-mail

Accounts may not be used to send unsolicited advertisements for goods or services of any kind, free or for profit. Accounts may not be used as 'drop-boxes' or repository for responses to an unsolicited advertisement.

    Pyramid Schemes/Chain Letters

These types of e-mail encourage the recipient to send money to someone and send the e-mail on to other people. These types of e-mail are illegal and accounts may not be used to start or forward such e-mail.

    Mail Bombs

Mail bombing is defined as sending numerous and/or unusually large files or messages to one or more recipients with the malicious intent to flood the recipients e-mail box. This activity is strictly prohibited and cause for immediate termination.

    Threats

Sending of threatening e-mail from your account is grounds for immediate termination. For everyone's safety and comfort, we are obligated to take all threats seriously.

    Harassment

E-mail harassment is defined as sending unsolicited messages which interfere with others' enjoyment of the internet. A message does not need to be overtly threatening or have obscene content to qualify as harassment. Make sure you know all the people to whom your message is addressed before sending it. Refrain from e-mailing any person who has stated that they do not wish to receive mail from you. Harassing e-mail is prohibited and is grounds for termination of your account.

    USENET NEWSGROUPS

Excessive cross-posting, or posting of the same article to multiple newsgroups, is prohibited. Generally accepted standards allow no more than 15 newsgroups, or cross-posting, for a single article or substantially similar articles. Reported incidents of newsgroup cross-posting will be investigated and is cause for termination.

    Off-topic or Harassing Posting

Articles must comply with the written charter/FAQ of the newsgroup to which they are posted. If a newsgroup does not have a charter or FAQ, it is the responsibility of the user to determine the rules of the newsgroup before posting. Please realize that most newsgroups prohibit chain letters, pyramid schemes, encoded binary files, job offers or listing and personal ads.

    OTHER AREAS

    Network/Servers Attacks

Any attempt to gain un-authorized access to any computer or network is prohibited. Further, scanning or probing computers in an attempt to discover security weaknesses, whether or not those weaknesses are found or exploited, is strictly prohibited. Any activity which results in a "denial of service" (DOS) attack on a computer system or network is forbidden. Any such activity which is reported or discovered will be grounds for termination and the incident will be turned over to the authorities.

    Web Page Content

No one is allowed to setup in their personal or business web area any material of an adult nature. This in no way restricts the types of web sites you are allowed to view. We do not monitor, track, record or otherwise care what type of material you read or view on the net. However, as part of our agreement with our upstream access provider, we are not allowed to host "adult" sites, and as such we must pass that restriction on to our users.
