USING MY NETWORK PLACES TO FTP
These instructions tell you how to use My Network Places
to FTP your files to your web site.
1) Click on Start
2) Click on My Network Places
3) Click on Add Network Place
4) Wizard comes up - click NEXT at bottom of welcome page
5) Select - Choose Another Network Location & click NEXT
6) Enter the location name :
 
If you have a domain --- ftp://your-log-in-name@vcoms.net/www
 
If you have a person web page --- ftp://your-log-in-name@vcoms.net/public_html
 
This is the account name, the server and the starting
directory for the network place.
 
Click NEXT.
7) Select a handy/easy name that will let you know which network place this is -
 
we recommend using your login (someone@vcoms.net)
 
Click NEXT.
8) You should now be on the completion page - decide whether
 
you wish to connect now or not, then click FINISH.
When you are connecting to the Network Place -
You will need to enter the password - it is your log in password.
Click Log On.
It takes a little bit to log into the area.
Once you are logged on you are able to copy and paste files
and folders just as you normally do.
You can make new folders as desired.
You can delete files and folders as you normally do.
