INTERNET EXPLORER SETUP
General Instructions for setting up Internet Connections.
Please note : each version of Internet Explorer has a slightly
different screen layout and order for the questions.
Please note : some on line instructions for one version
of Internet Explorer are given at www.vcoms.net/support
They are a different version than what is given below.
1) Bring up Internet Explorer
2) Click on Tools
3) Click on Internet Options
4) If the Home Page Address needs updating, put the address of
the home page you wish to use and click APPLY button at the bottom of the screen.
If you wish to use our Home Page, type : http://www.vcoms.net
It has a link to our acceptable use policy and other useful web sites.
5) Click the Connections Tab
6) Click the Setup Tab toward the top of the screen
This brings up the Internet Connection Wizard

7) Welcome to the New Connection Wizard. Click Next.
8) You want to Connect to the Internet. Click Next.
9) You want to set up your Internet Connection Manually.
Select that and click Next.
10) You connect through a phone line and modem
Select that and click Next.
11) Connection Name : vcoms.net
This will let you know that this is the connection with vcoms.net.
Click Next when you are ready.
12) Enter the local phone number from the Access List.
No area code is needed. Click Next.
13) Logon information screen :
Enter your user name and password.
Generally -- Your user name is (someone)@vcoms.net.
You need to include the @vcoms.net.
Use this account for all may be checked.
Make this the default connection may be checked.
Click Next.
14) Click Add a shortcut to the desktop.
15) Click Finish to save all the settings.
